Jane Lynch Rocks The 2012 FiFi Awards

At last night’s 2012 FiFi Fragrance Awards to celebrate and honor the art, passion and personalities of the fragrance world, Golden Globe and Emmy winning actress and comedian Jane Lynch brought the house down with her opening remarks that went something like this:

“I’m honored to be here tonight to serve as your host. Selecting me as host makes perfect sense, because when you think of a sexy, delicate and floral fragrance, you think, “Jane Lynch.”

It’s that time again. Time for the now infamous FIFi Facebook GiveAways.

That’s right. It’s your chance to get your hands on some of this year’s fabulous FiFi nominees.

So how can you get your hands on a bottle? Well, it’s easy. On Facebook, we’ll announce the fragrance or fragrances up for grabs. If you want to be entered for a chance to win, first make sure you’re a fan of our Facebook Page and then simply click the “like” button under the posted announcement and you are entered. You may only enter once per contest and contests are open to US Residents only.

2012 FiFi Awards Finalists: Fragrance Hall of Fame

The Fragrance Hall of Fame Award recognizes a fragrance classic (men’s and women’s) which was fifteen or more years old in 2011. To be eligible to appear on the ballot, companies were required to submit materials to support the marketing strategies which helped the fragrance achieve awareness and success in 2011, including: new form of product (if any); new packaging (primary or secondary); new advertising (print or TV) and uniqueness of collateral support (in-store promotion, sampling, display, etc.)

Announcing The 2012 Top Ten FiFi Finalists

 
“Announcing the Top Ten Finalists is exciting as now we can really say we are in FiFi mode and look forward to the fun and anticipation at The FiFi Finalists Breakfast, April 27th in the Grand Ballroom of The Mandarin Oriental when it gets narrowed down to the Top Five,” commented Jill Belasco, Chair of The Fragrance Foundation Board.

“Every year we look forward to receiving all the submissions and take great joy in seeing the stunning array of fragrances, fabulous packaging, exciting media campaigns and ingenious technology that goes into each creation, and wondering, along with everyone else, who will win what!” said Mary Ellen Lapsansky, Vice President of the Foundation.

At the same time, the Foundation is delighted to welcome the warm personality and bright smile of this year’s breakfast host Janice Huff, Chief Meteorologist for WNBC TV New York who will light up the proceedings at the industry’s most fun, yet nerve-wracking event! 40 Years of Chanel and FiFi

Last Monday, we announced that Gabrielle Chanel would be this year’s inductee into the FiFi Hall of Fame, chosen by the Board of Directors of The Fragrance Foundation for bringing “extraordinary ingenuity, creativity, dedication and inner resources to bear, not only to [her] company’s success but to the fragrance industry as a whole.”

Mademoiselle Chanel is the third Chanel employee to receive this honor (joining H. Gregory Thomas (1976) and Arie L. Kopelman (2005)). As a company, Chanel has now received a total of 26 FiFi Awards over the past 40 years.
