The Fragrance Foundation is delighted to announce that Jean Paul Gaultier will be honored with the 2011 FiFi Hall of Fame Award at The FiFi Awards celebration on Wednesday May 25th in New York City. The FiFi Hall of Fame Award is voted on by the Foundation’s Board of Directors and is presented to an individual who has brought extraordinary ingenuity, creativity, dedication and inner resources to bear, not only to their company’s success but to the fragrance industry as a whole.

Dateline April 24th 1952: Birth of one the great rule-breakers of the French fashion world. “And who, in the year 2011, would dare to dispute that statement?” comments Rochelle Bloom, President of The Fragrance Foundation. “Monsieur Gaultier has not only been a fearless fashion icon for the ages, but has poured his incredible creativity into the ground-breaking, outrageous, seductive and hugely successful fragrance collection that all started with the founding couple: “Classique and Le Male.”

Jean Paul Gaultier’s clothes are works of art, born of a perfect sense of cut, fluidity and the body wearing it. In each fold, each hem, each material, the love for women is obvious, the deep admiring love of a man which they repay in spades.
